Girl from the Borders asked:
I have downloaded some stuff from BBC Iplayer and would like to watch it on my TV instead of the laptop. Is there any way I can do this?

I think that will work for ya!
Alternatively, what format is lplayer in? My Magnavox DVD player plays DivX AVI files just great. Burn a CD or DVD full of the BBC programs and play them directly through the DVD player. No PC needed………
Get a cable that as vga connectors at both ends and run it from the back of your laptop to your tv’s vga input. Remember to press (FN and CRT/LCD) together so you can switch over to the other monitor. You can connect the cable when your laptop as been fully loaded and also remember to get a long enough cable.
LOL
i have a sony viao laptop and only yesturday did the new tv my mum ordered for our living room arrive. and guess what! its a large screen panasonic Viera! haha
bout ur question…i dont know sorry, ud need a cable of some sort. go to comet and ask the guy for a cable to go from ur laptop to ur tv
Most notebooks do not have HDMI standard, only the higher end models. Most notebooks do contain a video out port or S video which both look similar so you could use that if you have an adapter or use the VGA port on the notebook.
Once you physically are able to connect the notebook and the TV, then you can press the FN and F4 key on most notebooks to activate the screen on the TV, look for the [ [] ] Symbol on the keyboard. If that doesn’t work, then just right click on the desktop and choose personalize and go to the advanced video tab and right click on the second screen and choose attached.
this site will give you a sony vaio laptop just for completing some quick online tasks! really recommend it, especially if you’re broke but really want/need a laptop (like me).
